How to Get Rid of Acne Scars

posted in: fitness (Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , ) - No Comments

As an acne sufferer, you’ve no doubt been victim to acne scars, the persistent after effect of an acne break out. Unlike a pimple or blackhead, which normally fades rather quickly, an acne scar can last months or years and depending on your complexion, can look extremely unappealing.

The scars left by acne often cause frustration in people because they usually don’t have any idea when the marks will fade. The skin has a groovy way of smoothing itself out over time through shedding, but for most people this process takes a little too long when it comes to acne scars. Typically, the next step after healing your acne is getting your hands on a cure for the leftover blemishes.

The causes of acne scarring can vary depending on the nature of the acne that preceded it, but for the most part, the methods used to get rid of acne scars have remained somewhat consistent. Unfortunately, most techniques to get rid of acne scars have proven to be costly or impractical.

One of the most infamous methods for dealing with acne scars is an expensive and painful surgery called dermabrasion. Getting this surgery can be compared to having a machine sand down your face with harsh sandpaper. Ouch. Dermabrasion is by no means a permanent cure for acne scarring, either; in fact, some patients are disappointed to find that their acne scars actually return rather quickly after their next bad break out.

Of all the different creams and pills out there that promise to help acne scars fade I’ve found that almost none of them do very much at all, except waste your time and money. It isn’t easy to keep up with costly products that you have to use regularly, especially when there isn’t much sign of you maintaining results without using said products.

On the bright side, that does not mean it is impossible to get rid of your acne scars without surgery. One treatment is called “chemical peeling” and it involves using chemical peels which are extremely effective for helping your body to quickly shed its old skin. This is probably the best method for dealing with acne scars, as all it does is speed up a process that your body would like to do on its own anyway.

Whatever you choose to do, just know that getting rid of acne scars is indeed possible. The trick is to find a method that works for you and is in a price range that you can afford.

Pimple Popping – How to Pop Pimples

posted in: fitness (Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , ) - No Comments

If you suffer from acne or even just the occasional pimple, then you’ve no doubt heard of the infamous “pimple popping” method for dealing with pimples or whiteheads. What most people do not realize is that there is a right way and a wrong way to pop a pimple.

Now, if you are one of those that sufferers from a more serious acne problem popping your pimples isn’t such a good idea. Your best bet would be to treat your acne with an all around solution, or a natural acne treatment that can help heal your skin from the inside out.

However, “deflating” a large zit can be a good idea. Surely a little redness is favorable over a distracting whitehead. Well in this article I’m going to give you some tips on the best way to safely and efficiently pop a pimple.

Now for starters it’s important that you know which pimples are safe to pop and which aren’t. If you try and pop a pimple that isn’t ready it could hurt and possibly leave a scar. Make sure to target the largest ones, preferably those that look as if they’ll pop on their own soon.

Once you’re ready to get started you’ll need to find yourself a small needle (a small safety pin or sewing needle) to prick the tip of the pimple. You must first disinfect the needle with some rubbing alcohol. Once you’ve done this you can start squeezing the pimple from the sides with a tissue in hand for cleaning. Make sure you don’t squeeze too hard and hurt yourself, if you have to the pimple may not be ready yet.

Trying to pop a pimple that isn’t ready can only end poorly. The area could remain quite sore for a while after and you could be left with a deep scar. Scars left by acne tend to be much worse than the zits themselves, and they are typically long lasting.

That’s it. Popping a pimple is no complicated affair, but it still pays to get the job done right!

Here’s the thing: popping pimples actually isn’t very efficient at all. What works much better is to use an acne clearing device to simply remove the pimple, without scarring. Here are two devices that can do that: Zeno Pro vs Zeno MD

Tennessee Titans Keep Falling

posted in: fitness (Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , ) - No Comments

Who would have expected the Tennessee Titans to open up the season with an 0-2 record? After a successful 2008 season, it’s shocking.

An amazing defensive unit, two powerful running backs in Chris Johnson and LenDale White, and a team led by the wise ways of accomplished head coach Jeff Fisher.

Many thought this was a Super Bowl team last season. I think I thought so myself. They made a few changes during the off-season that seemed positive.

The running game of the Titans is more dangerous, as Chris Johnson and LenDale White are a formidable running duo. The Titans’ defense has been good at stopping the run but not much else. The Titans are among the worst in the NFL in points per game allowed and passing yards per game allowed.

They don’t seem to be doing anything different then last year – which might be the problem this year.

So they were 0-1, but they were expected to lose that game, right? Surely, they’d bounce back to 1-1 after hosting the Texans at home.

It is hard to believe that a team coached by Jeff Fisher will continue to play this way for an entire NFL season.

The Titans now have an 0-2 record to begin the 2009 NFL season and sit at the bottom of their division. Things aren’t looking so good in Nashville now.

The New Orleans Saints Stay On Top of the NFC

posted in: fitness (Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , ) - No Comments

The New Orleans Saints started out the season with all guns blazing. They have the potential to have the greatest offense the league has seen in the last 30 years which includes the 2007 New England Patriots team that set many NFL scoring records.

QB Drew Brees is playing the best he has ever played and will be a favorite for MVP once the season is over. The 09′ season should be a good one for the Saints franchise overall, many expect the Saints to play late in January.

The Saints have weapons all round the field from RB Reggie Bush, WR Marques Colston, WR Jeremy Shockey, WR Devery Henderson, and RB Mike Bell. With such a potent offense the Saints can outscore anyone in the league -which means they are never out of the game no matter what the score is.

The offense ranks in the top 10 in every major statistical category and should continue to do so all season long. The Saints defense isn’t bad either; they are holding opponents to around 20 point per game — averaging much more then that on offense.

To begin the 2009 season, the Saints were given a very easy opponent in the Detroit Lions. As expected, they went on to win this game rather easily.

The defense is what the Saints need to keep opponents to a relatively low score – we know the Saints can score in bunches and quickly. But defense wins championships!

New Orleans has struggled financially the last few years and a good Saints football team is what the New Orleans community needs. Sports have been a great way to help bring communities together during tough times.

The Saints had a disappointing loss to the Bears in the 06′ NFC Championship game in freezing weather. Let’s hope for the Saints sake they receive home field advantage all through out.

High Expectations for the Minnesota Vikings in ‘09

posted in: fitness (Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , ) - No Comments

The Minnesota Vikings are now 2-0 after two weeks of the 2009 NFL season. Led by veteran quarterback Brett Favre, the team has the best running back in football and one of the best defensive units.

The Vikings opted to sign Brett Favre for the fact that they felt the team was ready to contend for a championship, and a quarterback was one of the only missing pieces. Despite Brett’s age, they knew he still had another year or two left, especially since Adrian Peterson will take a ton of pressure off of him.

Through two weeks of the NFL season, the Vikings are really looking good. Of course, one could argue that their two wins both came against weak teams. Even so, they have a chemistry of champions already.

Favre isn’t the only man who needs to play his best for the Vikings to win the Super Bowl, Adrian Peterson will have to have a career year and play like a man possessed. Peterson’s role will be important as the season moves into the colder months, granted the Vikings play in a dome but traveling to Green Bay and Chicago in the winter isn’t fun.

The Vikings franchise hasn’t had this good of a team since the 98′ Vikings went 15-1 with WR Randy Moss, QB Randall Cunningham, RB Robert Smith, WR Chris Carter, and DT John Randle. The team was upset in the NFC Championship game to the Atlanta Falcons in overtime. Hopefully, the 09′ Vikings can avoid such a fate.

While the rest of the Vikings team is very good, the team will only go as Favre stays healthy. Tarvaris Jackson and Sage Rosenfels are good quarterbacks, but are they Super Bowl worthy? Many wouldn’t think so.

If Brett Favre can limit his interceptions and “manage” the game more then he use to, hand the ball off to Peterson regularly, the Vikings should play well into January this season.

Anything less then a Super Bowl appearance for the Vikings would be considered a disappointment – Favre isn’t a young man anymore but his sole reason to comeback and play was to win another Super Bowl.

Discuss the latest on the Vikings at RootZoo’s Vikings forums and be sure to play their daily sports futures.

Joe Flacco Continues Where He Left Off In 2008

posted in: fitness (Tags: , , , , , , , , , , ) - No Comments

In 2008, the Baltimore Ravens had a tremendous season with the guidance of rookie quarterback Joe Flacco.

While the team made the playoffs, they were stopped short in their tracks, but the 2008 season was by and large considered a successful one for the Baltimore Ravens.

Entering the 2009 season, there were a few small question marks, especially those relating to the departure of defensive coordinator Rex Ryan. Ryan, who had left the Ravens to take on the head coach position with the New York Jets, was largely credited for the defensive dominance in Baltimore through the course of this decade.

Would the team be as prominent on defense without Ryan? This was a hard question to answer at this point in time, but one that is beginning to show its face in light of the first two games of the 2009 season.

While the defense in Baltimore seems to be somewhat weaker than in seasons past (the team allowed 24 and 26 points in weeks 1 and 2), this hasn’t been too much of an issue just yet. The offense has made up for it, as the Ravens have scored over 30 points in both week 1 and week 2.

The Ravens are averaging over 400 yards in total offense per game thus far. With the combination of a consistent offense and a defense that still strikes fear in other teams, there is no telling how far the Ravens can go.

There is no “sophomore jinx” with Joe Flacco – if anything Flacco has improved as a quarterback. His decision making and poise are a fantastic skill set all young quarterbacks aspire to have.

If Joe Flacco keeps this level of play going, he will have another stellar year. The Ravens are dangerous in 2009.

Gay Vacations to France

posted in: fitness (Tags: , , ) - No Comments

Whether traveling to France on a trip across Europe, of visiting this popular country as your gay romantic destination, travelers will find magnificent beaches, alpine resorts, breathtaking countryside with quaint villages and medieval castles, world-renowned art collections, the glorious French Riviera and the truly unique, exceptional city of Paris.

Gay vacations often center around Paris and its vibrant LGBT community, cultural and historical landmarks and accepting cosmopolitan environment, visitors will find that throughout France there is plenty to do and see, as well as many LGBT establishments and a welcoming atmosphere. Laws outlawing sodomy were abolished over 200 years ago and Frances LGBT community has enjoyed civil unions for the last decade. With legal protections in place and a general laissez-faire attitude that is common among the French, visitors will find that France provides an accepting and safe gay tours.

Visitors will find a number of community festivals and events taking place throughout the year in different parts of the country, including pride celebrations in many cities, a gay and lesbian film festival in Paris and Paris world-famous pride festival and parade. A gay vacation in Paris should also include a stop at the Legay Choc bakery in the Marais district, as well as the collection of male images at ArtMenParis and the female impersonation cabaret shows at LArtishow, Madame Arthur and Chez Michou. Paris nightlife often starts early with bars opening in the afternoon, followed by clubs opening around midnight and thumping the night away, often until noon.

For men in search of the bawdier side of gay vacations in Paris, sex clubs, bars with backrooms and popular cruising spots are readily available. There are also plenty of saunas (bathhouses) to choose from; however, French saunas operate differently than what some travelers might be accustomed to in Canada or America. In France, saunas have relaxation cubicles rather than private rooms for rent and visiting saunas is largely an afternoon activity, with Sunday afternoons being the most popular time.

Most gay travel hotspots cater largely to men, have little to no visible lesbian presence and offer few establishments dedicated to the lesbian community. Women will be delighted to discover that this is not the case in Paris. Parisian lesbians and visitors enjoy a multitude of venues and organizations that can be found throughout the city, but particularly in the neighborhoods of Marais, Grands Boulevards, Halles-Beaubourg, Saint Germain des Pres and Palais Royal. Palais Royal is home to one of the oldest lesbian bars in Paris, while the Bastille-Republique district has a delightful community bookstore with a distinct Sapphic flare. There is also a lesbian walking group and even a sex shop that caters solely to women.

Although Paris might be the most visited gay vacation destination in France, many other options are available throughout the country, including Avignon in Provence, Montpellier and Nice on the Mediterranian coast, Annecy in the Alps, Nantes in Brittany and the nude community beaches of Camargue. For those who hope to rub elbows with the rich and famous, Saint Tropez on the French Riviera should not be missed, while those looking for a romantic retreat might opt for an LGBT-owned B … B outside of Bourdeaux. With so many gay travel options to choose from, France is truly an ideal setting for gay romance travel.
