Losing Weight And The New You!

posted in: diet (Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , ) - No Comments

You wake up each morning and you want to eat right. You prepare a nutritious breakfast and you are off to a great start. So many people pass on breakfast and then they have issues and wonder why. Not you. You know better. Never skip meals to lose weight, in fact do quite the opposite. Add more meals to your diet and eat lighter. Your body stays in working condition with the energy it needs to do so. Your blood sugar needs to be at a certain level and your calories need to be in check as well. Efficient eating can do that for you, along with a few more obvious tips.

Since you were very little fruits and vegetables were a must. You would fight your parents because the taste was not very appealing. Now those two things can help you in your fight to lose weight. They are light in total but filling to your stomach, a great way to eat a lighter meal. They also have many required vitamins, antioxidants, fiber and minerals your body desperately needs.

The clear way to eat sensibly is to avoid processed and that of fast food. No good comes from eating that. You will be doing the opposite of what you want. In the markets today there is no reason not to eat fresh each and every time. Sure you may need to visit the market a little more, all worth it in the end.

A well known tip is to reduce the sugar intake we often let slide with our coffee, candy and soda drinks. Sugar will slow you down and sit with you long after you would like. A better way to go is with water. The body loves and needs water. Six to eight glasses will transform your healthy lifestyle to a more complete transformation.

Another good item to watch out for is that of salt, a big concern for the waist and your cardiovascular system. There are many spices out there you can use to up the flavor without having to increase the salt dosage. Lose salt in favor of nutmeg, rosemary, pepper, ginger, basil and of course garlic. You will be healthier and your diet will work wonders.

As already mentioned, lowering the portions is an effective way to get the nutrients you need but without the excess garbage. Whenever you are out at a restaurant be sure to keep this in mind. Avoid seconds and don’t be afraid to bring some home in a separate container, all good habits all the time, a good rule to live by.

Of course the food will not push the body like it is suppose to without exercise of some form. Make the body work and you will get results. Find an activity that involves moving. Find a sport, take a walk, run, swim or find a machine, anything to get the blood moving. You don’t put gas in your car to just sit in the garage. You need to drive it, same thing with your body. Hit the gas whenever you can. All of this will help you lose weight and help you keep it off. That is the objective.

Getting a Jump on losing weight sometimes requires you to use a supplement for a small period of time. I have reviewed the best of the best and found that this is The Best Acai Supplement and this is The Best Colon Cleanse to use. You only use both for a few months and it makes a world of difference in how much you lose at the start of any diet. Try them both – your going to Amazed at the results!

Food – Tips For Preparing And Storing It

posted in: fitness (Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , ) - No Comments

In these times of superior awareness of the shortages in the world and the recent economic problems in the whole world, but particularly in the wealthy Western countries, which are the powerhouses of most Third World countries’ progress, people are more aware of waste. It is a sin again to throw away food, like it was 50 years ago.

This can only be a good thing although it is a disgrace that it took an international financial crisis to make us recall the lesson. These days, waste of any kind is greeted with public censure and so it is at home too. Most people spend a very high proportion of their outgoings on food and so anyone who wants to cut back, has to first look to this quarter to make a saving.

However, saving does not necessarily mean ‘not buying’, it can and should mean ‘not throwing away’. In other words, prepare your food and do not let your food go off. Preparation and storage are the key words. With that thought in mind, here are a few of my tips for preparing and storing food correctly.

Bread – tons of bread is thrown away every day, because it has gone stale or mouldy and yet it is totally needless. Keep your bread in the deep freezer and not in the bread bin. A whole loaf will slice frozen with the proper knife and sliced bread will come away slice by slice. There is no requirement to defrost as it only takes a minute or two at room temperature.

Bananas – most people understand that banana skins turn black if kept in the fridge, but most people do not know that bananas can be frozen solid. Yes, the skins will still go black, but the fruit will be undamaged.

Cake – to stop cake from going stale, store it in a tin with an apple. The moisture in the apple will stop the cake from going hard.

Watercress – to keep watercress from wilting, store it upside down in water, that is stalks up.

Salt – salt often gets damp, especially if stored in a steamy kitchen without sufficient ventilation, but you do not have to worry about that if you put two or three grains of rice in the salt cellar. They will absorb the moisture before the salt.

Cereal – stop cereal from going soft by resealing the bag with a few clothes pegs. Your cereal will last weeks more.

Jam – boiling jam produces a scum which has to be skimmed off and thrown away. This wastes jam, goodness and flavour. However, if you whisk a knob of butter into the mixture at the last moment the scum will not appear, saving time and goodness.

Funnel – you always seem to need a funnel when you do not have one. Then you vow to get a funnel for the next time. Do not bother. Just cut the top nine inches off a plastic bottle of cola. It makes an excellent throw-away funnel. Some of the larger bottles even have a handle on them which is even better.

Reading Reviews On Scooters And Motorbikes

posted in: fitness (Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , ) - No Comments

I have read tons of reviews about scooters and motorbikes, because I am a subscriber to a scooter and motorcycle enthusiasts’ magazine that carries articles about all the different sorts of scooters and motorcycles on the market. It also recommends the best one to buy depending on whether you are a first time owner or a two-wheeler old hand. The magazine is fantastic, and it helps me understand what other scooter owners feel about the different models and brands of scooters.

I have to say that people’s views vary quite widely on every subject, which is why it’s probably always better to do your own studying and get what best suits you, rather than getting what other people say will suit you, when they do not even know you. Having said that, many first time buyers do not actually know what they are looking for, and it is really these people that these reports are written for.

However, these reviews are not meant to be taken too literally, rather they are intended as a guideline so that prospective novice buyers have to think about the aspects of buying a scooter or motorbike. It also gives experts a run down of the salient details. Then you need to make up your own mind whether you care, for example, whether the scooter’s seat is made of leather or fabric.

All in all, I like this magazine because it considers people from all walks of life, and its writers and editor appreciate that even if you are interested in purchasing a scooter, you may not have enough money or you might be reading just out of interest in scooters or motorcycles.

We all know that money is difficult to come by these days, and consumers are becoming more and more well-informed about the goods they want, which is a good thing in my opinion. After all, there are other merchants who just desire to get the most money they can for their products and mark up their scooter prices to inflated amounts in the hope that they will get a few stupid customers that did not do their research.

And I am sure that they probably do get a few customers like that, because they do stay in business somehow and I frequently hear awfulness stories about individuals who have paid far too much for their scooter or motorbike.

When you ask them why they did not take the time to read the reviews in a magazine, they usually say that they did not know about the magazines, or even worse, that they did not have sufficient time. Therefore it appears that they had sufficient time to work like a dog for the money, but then not sufficient time to read a short magazine review? I doubt it very much. With a bit of luck, consumers will continue becoming more and more careful about their purchases.

It is such a pity, so, If you happen to be a new scooter enthusiast, or you know someone who is, please make sure you read the scooter and motorbike reviews before concluding a purchase. It can literally save you hundreds or even thousands of your hard earned dollars.

Some Things I Do Long For About Massage Chairs

posted in: fitness (Tags: , , , , , , , , , , ) - No Comments

It is amazing out how common massage chairs have become in our society. We see them in many different places like shopping malls and car washes. Many people own them and have them in their homes or even in their offices. Massage chairs are much more than just a feel-good item. They provide many different therapeutic benefits. Here are some of the things I most like about a massage chair.

I am someone who likes a natural way of life. I am more interested in natural therapies and artificial ones. This seems to be a much more harmonious existence. I have always appreciated and enjoyed periodic massage treatments. They help to bring a better balance in my life and provide any time for relaxation.

You know the thing I really like about my massage chair is that it is always waiting for me. However, unlike a dog, it fits me rather than the other way around. I know I get tired of letting my dog after a while. The good thing about my massage chair is that it never gets tired of petting me.

Massage chairs provide you with on demand capability. If I get up and my back is stiff, then I can get a quick five minute massage to help relieve it. Just a few quick minutes in my massage chair is priceless to relieve the tension in my back.

Massage chairs are great for relieving specific areas. They typically have massage programs that do full body massage. However, sometimes more importantly is to receive focused relief. If you have stiffness in your shoulders, then it is better to target the massage to relieve that specific area.

I have become very good at targeting specific spots on my body. The remote control makes it super easy to position and control the intensity of the massage. Sometimes I am tenderer, and want a lighter massage. As I get some relief, then I will increase the pressure to provide more thorough penetration and relief.

I always use my massage chair before and after playing sports. Beforehand, I like to use it to warm up as part of my calisthenics and exercise. After playing, I like to use it as a warm down tool. This helps to soothe and relieve areas of my body which may now be sore from the physical activity.

There is simply nothing better than coming home after a long day in getting a quick 10 minute rejuvenation massage. This type of quick and convenient massage helps me change my attitude after a long day. I let the massage chair work its magic and to relieve stress and tension from the days activities.

My massage chair has definitely helped my relationship at home. Whenever tensions flare, is a provider of sanctuary. It is nice to be able to get some relaxation after going through a stressful event. This helps both of us to bridge the gaps and to calm our discussions peacefully.

My massage chair has become my best friend. It is always there to listen to me. It also soothes and comforts me when I am down or under stress. It never gets tired of massaging me. If I ask it to massage me in a certain area, it does it faithfully. It is a good friend and one that is always there for me. I love my massage chair.

You really have to acquire a massage chair. Discover more regarding Massage Chair Features to help identify what you want in a massage chair. You can certainly find many massage chairs, but few Massage Chairs I Like. It is a personal thing and you want to make sure you acquire a massage chair that fits your needs.

The Champions, The Los Angeles Lakers Improve With Addition of Ron Artest

posted in: fitness (Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , ) - No Comments

The Los Angeles Lakers made a statement last season. In the face of so many naysayers, Kobe Bryant proved that this team had what it takes to win a championship. Many fans and experts doubted Kobe Bryant once the Lakers lost Shaq.

Well, for one, they’re the defending champions. They defeated the Orlando Magic with relative ease in the NBA finals, and looked very solid throughout the duration of the 2009 NBA playoffs.

It should also be noted that the only significant player the Lakers have lost is Trevor Ariza. While Ariza was a valuable role player in Los Angeles, he’s not one of the team’s stars, so all indicators would point to the notion that they should be okay without him.

Much of the Lakers’ success last year should be attributed to a lot more than just Kobe himself. This was a team effort through and through.

Andrew Bynum needs to have a break out year this season because he has contributed little in his career thus far. Bynum has improved his scoring average every year he has been in the league but can’t stay healthy. Bynum is a good talent; he has size and has shown signs of having the potential to be a great big man.

The Lakers are looking to repeat this season – their chances are very good. The last time a team repeated as champions were the Lakers 01′ & 02′.

It’s hard to repeat as champions in professional sports because players get hurt and more trades happen now then ever before. The Lakers still have Kobe Bryant and he is playing at an elite level.

Then there’s the x-factor, of course. The signing of Ron Artest, one of the best defensive players in basketball. Artest will turn 31, making for a well aged team that has the physical prowess and the knowledge to do anything a team is capable of doing. The Los Angeles Lakers are favorites to repeat entering the season.

The Los Angeles Clippers Should Improve in ‘09-’10

posted in: fitness (Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , ) - No Comments

The L.A. Clippers season was over before it began last season – which was shocking to most that the Clippers could be that bad, even for them.

Injury issues limited Davis, and even Camby to a degree. Still, the Los Angeles Clippers greatly underachieved, and ended up in a position that brought the franchise a number one draft pick.

It’s unfair to Blake Griffin that he has to come in this situation and change the team completely. Griffin is a highly talented player who should do well in his first season in the NBA.

An extremely versatile player, Griffin’s power and forcefulness are the type that can positively impact any team. He’s a franchise player in the mold of a Tim Duncan.

Being picked number 1 overall doesn’t mean success for example – 98′ Michael Olowokandi draft by Clippers, 01′ Kwame Brown drafter by Washington Wizards, and 05′ Andrew Bogut drafted by Milwaukee Bucks. There have been many number 1 draft picks that have found success, its not a guarantee a player drafted number 1 will be great.

The Clippers have a very long history of failures and never found that core group of players that meshed long enough to make a serious playoff run. The leading scorer on the Clippers last season Zach Randolph, who isn’t on the team anymore. They only won 19 games with him as the leading scorer so it was time to make a change one would assume.

Griffin’s presence in the middle should easily free up the lane for Baron Davis, and create additional opportunities for players like Al Thornton to shine. He’s one of the strongest players coming out of college I’ve seen in a long time. Give him some time and he should be a stud.

Clippers fans should feel very grateful for the outcome of there draft. There’s a new big name in Los Angeles. If Baron and Camby can both stay healthy, this team has a lot of potential.

The Rockets Look for Success Without Yao and Artest

posted in: fitness (Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , ) - No Comments

The Houston Rockets were one of those teams last NBA season that quietly flew under the radar. Having finished the regular season with a 53-29 overall record, the Rockets just missed the number two seed in the playoffs by a mere game.

The Rockets went 53-29, which in the Western Conference is very good. The Rockets racked up wins by their defensive efforts holding teams under 95 points per game. The Rockets were 17th in scoring – which is why they couldn’t beat the Lakers, not enough fire power.

This nearly happened, as the Houston Rockets took the Los Angeles Lakers to a full seven games during the Western Conference semifinals last season. While the Lakers won this game 7 by a whole’ points, the Rockets had LA’s number during a few of these games, leaving many wondering just how dangerous this efficient basketball team was.

Yao Ming has been battling injuries his entire career and many as of late. We still do not know if he will play in the 09-10′ season.

The loss of Ron Artest is a blow because he was one of their best defenders. The Rockets ranked 6th in opposing team scoring last season but should see a drop off without Artest this season.

The Rockets did pick up free agent Trevor Ariza – who had a very good regular season and played even better in the playoffs. Aaron Brooks had his break out season with the Rockets averaging 16 points per game in the playoffs – 5 more then his regular season average. Luis Scola had his best season in the NBA averaging 12 points per game and 8 rebounds.

The Rockets are a playoff team with the current roster they have. If the Rockets are ever going to contend for a championship they must stay healthy. Every year someone seems to get hurt thus limiting their chances at a serious title run.

Whether this has to do with having better players around him or issues with his health isn’t known, maybe both. McGrady’s scoring average always increased during the playoffs but he would face better teams and couldn’t make it out the first round.

Melo To Carry The Denver Nuggets On Both Sides Of The Court

posted in: fitness (Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , ) - No Comments

During the past few seasons, the Denver Nuggets have been one of those teams that generally play respectable basketball, finish the season with a winning record, make the playoffs and exits in the first round. Basketball fans had become accustomed to seeing this take place on a yearly basis, so people were surprised (to say the least) to witness the run that the Denver Nuggets embarked on during the 2009 NBA playoffs.

The most shocking reason for this all stems from the fact that the Nuggets had traded Allen Iverson, the team’s second highest scorer, to the Detroit Pistons. This panned out to be a great deal!

The knock on Denver for many years was they can score but refused to play defense – this wasn’t the case because Denver was’th is defense. Trading Iverson for Billups, definitely was a key move to fixing this problem.

Coach George Karl and the rest of the team had other plans though. The acquisition of Chauncey Billups proved invaluable to the team. Billups’ leadership, efficiency on the court, playoff experience, and his ability to serve as a natural point guard – a position the team had sorely been lacking ever since the departure of Andre Miller a few seasons prior – all gave the team a major boost in places that the Nuggets had been lagging before he joined the team.

Chauncey Billups came from the Detroit Pistons in a trade for Allen Iverson – the trade for Billups worked out well for Denver, not so much for the Pistons.

Carmelo Anthony emerged as a defensive player as well because of Billups. Anthony could possibly be the best pure scorer in the entire NBA – that includes Kobe Bryant and Lebron James. Everyone knew ‘Melo could score but his improvement on defense was most impressive.

As a result, the Nuggets ended up beating the Hornets in five games, before easily defeating the Mavericks in round 2 of the NBA playoffs. Then it was on to the Western Finals against the Lakers.

The Denver Nuggets have the same core of players that had last season and it wasn’t enough to beat the Lakers, maybe Denver can add one more piece to their team to give them a better chance this season.

Tennessee Titans Keep Falling

posted in: fitness (Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , ) - No Comments

Who would have expected the Tennessee Titans to open up the season with an 0-2 record? After a successful 2008 season, it’s shocking.

An amazing defensive unit, two powerful running backs in Chris Johnson and LenDale White, and a team led by the wise ways of accomplished head coach Jeff Fisher.

Many thought this was a Super Bowl team last season. I think I thought so myself. They made a few changes during the off-season that seemed positive.

The running game of the Titans is more dangerous, as Chris Johnson and LenDale White are a formidable running duo. The Titans’ defense has been good at stopping the run but not much else. The Titans are among the worst in the NFL in points per game allowed and passing yards per game allowed.

They don’t seem to be doing anything different then last year – which might be the problem this year.

So they were 0-1, but they were expected to lose that game, right? Surely, they’d bounce back to 1-1 after hosting the Texans at home.

It is hard to believe that a team coached by Jeff Fisher will continue to play this way for an entire NFL season.

The Titans now have an 0-2 record to begin the 2009 NFL season and sit at the bottom of their division. Things aren’t looking so good in Nashville now.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers Big Time Struggles

posted in: fitness (Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , ) - No Comments

The Tampa Buccaneers are one of the many teams in the NFL trying to start from the ground up and rebuild their franchise. After the Super Bowl win in 02′ the Buccaneers haven’t had much success.

The Bucs rank among the worst in defense and offense and the future looks bleak. The Bucs had potentially a few Hall of Fame players on their team 7 years ago, now they are just looking to avoid a 3 win season.

With the loss of Joey Galloway, the offense looked as if it was in a position to suffer, but some nice additions in the offense department (Byron Leftwich at quarterback, Derrick Ward at running back from the Giants, and Kellen Winslow at tight end from the Browns) put the Bucs in a position to build on their offensive struggles from the 2008 season.

The defense didn’t change much. They’re one of the worst units in the league and they should have spent a bit more on balancing out the squad, not just improving the offense.

RB Cadillac Williams was a rising star in the NFL a few seasons ago. In 05′ Williams ran for over 1,100 yards in– games but injuries have put his progression as a RB on hold. 07′ – 08′ Williams only played in 10 games, scored 7 touchdowns and rushed for 441 yards.

The main WR on the Bucs is Kellen Winslow – who in his best year in 07′ caught for over 1,000 yards with 5 touchdowns for the Cleveland Browns.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were dealt a somewhat difficult opponent in week 2, traveling to Buffalo to face the Bills. The Bills had nearly beaten the New England Patriots in week 1, and looked to be much improved in 2009, thanks to a few key additions at both offense and defense (most notably Terrell Owens). The Bills won this game 33-20, nearly the same score as the Bucs’ week one loss.

The Bucs defense is one of the worst in the league – if not THE worst – the Bucs have given up more the 30 points more times then many teams give up the entire season. It will be a long season for the Bucs in 09′.

Head on over to the most exciting Buccaneers forum at RootZoo Sports. Check out their trivia with over 60,000 questions.
