It’s been a terrible run of basketball for fans of the Knicks in New York. The team has failed to make the playoffs for several years now, finishing with losing records without fail.
The Los Angeles Lakers made a statement last season. In the face of so many naysayers, Kobe Bryant proved that this team had what it takes to win a championship. Many fans and experts doubted Kobe Bryant once the Lakers lost Shaq.
The L.A. Clippers season was over before it began last season – which was shocking to most that the Clippers could be that bad, even for them.
The Houston Rockets were one of those teams last NBA season that quietly flew under the radar. Having finished the regular season with a 53-29 overall record, the Rockets just missed the number two seed in the playoffs by a mere game.
During the past few seasons, the Denver Nuggets have been one of those teams that generally play respectable basketball, finish the season with a winning record, make the playoffs and exits in the first round. Basketball fans had become accustomed to seeing this take place on a yearly basis, so people were surprised (to say the least) to witness the run that the Denver Nuggets embarked on during the 2009 NBA playoffs.
Who would have expected the Tennessee Titans to open up the season with an 0-2 record? After a successful 2008 season, it’s shocking.
The Tampa Buccaneers are one of the many teams in the NFL trying to start from the ground up and rebuild their franchise. After the Super Bowl win in 02′ the Buccaneers haven’t had much success.
The Boston Celtics can’t be happy. Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen, and Paul Pierce can’t be happy. Without Kevin Garnett, the Celtics simply weren’t the same team during the 2009 playoffs and greatly suffered without him, ultimately losing a seven game series to the Orlando Magic.
The New Orleans Saints started out the season with all guns blazing. They have the potential to have the greatest offense the league has seen in the last 30 years which includes the 2007 New England Patriots team that set many NFL scoring records.
We’ve gone through several games of basketball and I’d like to take a look at some of the predictions people made about NBA teams. I happen to disagree with some of the proclamations that were made, and I’d like to explain why. Let’s determine the best NBA team.
